Focusing When We Are Hurting

Thank you for investing in yourself by taking the time to read this book. Here we will share tips for strengthening your own emotions and for reaching out to others who are or have suffered some emotional pain. Truly, the stresses of life can be overwhelming, and I have found that just reading inspirational words can bring me comfort and defuse emotional pain. These messages I have shared with participants attending the “Healing the Hurting” seminars after discussing what life events can bring us pain....

As we experience these losses, we often feel we are the only ones who have suffered loss. But everyone born has experienced the pain of loss, and the pain is shared by others even when we are unaware of their emotional state. Remember the verse "Jesus wep"”? When Jesus wept, He communed with God for help to resolve His pain. However, we seldom do the work to resolve our painful issues....

We all struggle to find the reasons, the meaning to these negative life situations that cause us such great pain, situations that often seem out of our control and continue to interrupt our otherwise positive thinking…

After doing the work, our undoing, and have reconnected with our healthy emotions; then we can ask for insights on how to approach others. In the search for words, we may need to do some research to find messages that have a spiritual focus and influence or stimulate an awareness of the need for change. …

"If you do not feel lighthearted and joyous, do not talk of your feelings. Cast no shadow upon the lives of others. A cold, sunless religion never draws souls to Christ. It drives them away from Him into the nets that Satan has spread for the feet of the straying."—Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing, p. 488.

4 Focusing on the Healing Words

You will find on the following pages some of the words of inspiration that I have collected and shared. Most were shared with me through e-mail, their authors unknown.

God has kept me here for a reason. I survived because he has a plan for me. All my bad relationships, the bad credit, the repossessions, the death of my loved ones, the backstabbing from my friends, the negative thoughts, or the lack of support, I made it because I am blessed!

I release and let go of all past hurts, misunderstandings and grudges because I am blessed! I recognize them as the illusions they are, for God is all there is, All else is a lie!

Now give yourself a hug,, wipe your tears and walk in victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We love you, but more appropriately, God loves you BEST! Be blessed and know that you are at one with THE SPIRIT OF HE LIVING GOD!

And may the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other. Genesis 31:49. Amen!

ATTITUDE

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away --- just for this time in my life.

Age is like a bank account. We withdraw from what we’ve put in. So, my advice is to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories. Thanks for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

  1. Free your heart from hatred.
  2. Free you mind from worries.
  3. Live simply.
  4. Give more.
  5. Expect less.

Smile!!

When we are given a heavy burden to bear, we need to learn to bear it in Jesus’ strength and for His sake. Whatever the burden or suffering, God will use it to “perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle” us, as I Peter 5:10 says.

Our burdens can make us better than we ever imagined ----stronger, more patient, more courageous, more gentle, and more loving than we could otherwise be. Without my trials and hardships I would never know the way That You turn burdens into blessings With each passing day. Today’s burdens can strengthen you for tomorrow. by Odette

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say.
